Technical Principles and Classification of Magnetic Lifting Machines

Nov 16, 2025 Leave a message

Magnetic lifting machines can be classified into two types based on the type of magnetic source: electromagnetic and permanent magnet.

Electromagnetic Lifting Machines: These generate an adjustable magnetic field through an energized coil. The adsorption force varies with the current, making them suitable for scenarios requiring dynamic control of the adsorption force (such as lifting metal plates of different thicknesses). Their advantage lies in the precise adjustment of the adsorption force, but they require continuous power supply and have higher energy consumption.

Permanent Magnet Lifting Machines: These use strong permanent magnet materials such as neodymium iron boron magnets. They maintain stable adsorption without an external power source and are suitable for long-term fixed operations (such as material handling on production lines). Their advantage is zero-energy operation, but the adsorption force is fixed and requires release via a mechanical demagnetizing device.

Some equipment combines the advantages of both, designed as a "hybrid electromagnetic-permanent magnet" type, achieving flexible adjustment of the adsorption force while maintaining low energy consumption.
